What are you reading for spring break?

Our spring break is next week. I am reading for pleasure and profession. Pleasure: finishing Hugo Cabret, startingThe thirteenth tale by Diane Setterfield, The book of other people edited by Zadie Smith, Brother, I am dying by Edwidge Danticat, and for professional reading: a variety of articles on cultural competency. OK, I may not get through all of this. But is is thrilling to have the books with me and to think that I can at least give it a stab. I also have some good bottles of wine. Reading in a hot bath with a glass of wine and one of cold water is just too fine. I'll be in the beautiful Texas hill country. Aaahhh...

What are you reading and where are you reading during spring break?

I'm finishing up Three Little Words, a memoir from a 22 year old who lived through foster home hell. GREAT for YA! I'm still tackling The Republic of Pirates, a non-fiction about the famous pirates of the 1700's...interesting stuff!! And there are a bunch of YA books I've set aside. I'm still trying to find an adult book for me - love Patricia Cornwell's new one : )

Where will you be doing all this reading?

After school when I get home, at night before I go to bed, on Fridays during school and those lazy Saturdays : )
I don't do much television watching except for the fabulous Lipstick Jungle!!

I've been reading Danielle Steel's new paperback about Sisters. It's fabulous. I need to get back to my YA reading. My middle school librarians meet once a month for dinner and to discuss the books they have been reading. They start with the Lone Star books when they come out and then move on to other hot titles. They've invited me to join them. I'm looking forward to it. I miss the reading I did when I was still in a library.
