This is my sixth year as a librarian and sixteenth year in education. I am currently a high school librarian but have one year experience as an elementary librarian.

You are absolutely right to be concerned for your storage. I went from a huge storage room in our old building to absolutely no storage here! The library is beautiful and large, and my office is big and has cabinets, but there is not a room for A/V equipment, etc. (When I signed on, all the plans were made already. The blueprints show a room that should be my storeroom, but it became a teacher workroom instead.) It has not been the issue it might have been since overheads etc. are stored in the technology storeroom, and most classrooms have their own A/V stuff. But there are some things I would like to tuck away but cannot.
Good luck, and keep plugging along. Don't let the powers that be shut you out! (Not that I think they would. Bowie was a great place to work!)
Hi, Kelly! Thanks for being my friend! How are things going in Bowie? Are you knee deep (or deeper) in preparing for the new school? It was so very exciting to see that the citizens finally passed a bond! I am really loving my new library here. When I get all the textbooks barcoded and out of here, I will try to send pictures. (That's a long story!)
