I was born and raised in Upstate New York. I obtained my teaching certificate from Pattsburgh State University and then after getting married traveled to North Carolina where I began teaching first grade in the public school system at the age of 30. I know, a late bloomer, but I worked as a Director of several large daycares so that I could have my own children with me while they were little. While teaching first grade in Morganton, NC I was approached by our then Librarian to take over her position. I had never considered being a librarian but I thought, "I love books", so I gave it a try.I worked on my Master's for 2 years and then my family moved to Maine where they did not have certified librarians in the public schools, so it was back to teaching first grade which I loved too! :) Two yearsago my two children and I moved here to Texas, where while looking for a house to buy was told that they were hiring a librarian in Magnoilia. It brought back such fond memories of a dream I thought was lost. I was hired and now am working once again on my masters degree in Library of Science. I had to start all over again, but so far I would say that the hard work is paying off. I love my school, the staff and the wonderful children I serve.
