Resources, networking, and sharing ideas

Wow...I guess this is one part of web 2.0 I've been ignoring for awhile. But there's SO MUCH OUT THERE!!! I'm having fun with my delicious account (don't remember where to put those periods) and snuggling up with google so we can become better acquainted. I just love that website, and I was (or am I still?) a diehard Yahoo fan. It's taken twelve years, but I'm ready to tell Yahoo I still love him, I just need something new and young and full of energy. I hope he understands....

Been reading up a storm and hitting the floor with my spring booktalk on Monday. Some of the best I've read?
Bootcamp by Todd Strasser
Unwind by Neal Shusterman (MY FAVORITE!!)
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Three Little Words: A Memoir ( but I can't remember her name...it's an amazing book!!)
Project 17 - a must for those who love a good ghost story
Big Fat Manifesto by Susan Vaught
Girl at Sea by Maureen Johnson
First Shot (LOVED IT!) by Walter Sorrells
Black Rabbit Summer by Kevin Brooks
The Year My Sister Lost it by Aimee Friedman
Opposite of Invisible by Liz Gallagher
and there's so many more, I just can't remember them all...about 25 titles this go around.

Getting the booktalk more evolved now too. Can't wait to see the reaction when I put together not only my talks, but the videos I have on some of these books!! Clive Barker's booktrailer from HarperCollins will really get them going ...it did me. If you haven't read this one, it's really good. Tongue-in-cheek with the demonic Barker style.

For awhile, I was on a no-read diet....couldn't take the taste anymore. It was like eating a salami sandwich for lunch every day for two weeks. But you know what happens next - I got so SICK of it that I wanted chocolate cake, so I have been devouring books like crazy! As with all diets, it'll do a full circle, but right now I'm smacking my lips and licking my fingers. There's some good stuff out there and FINALLY....a year for guy books abounds! Still gotta love the fluff stuff (chick lit, although that's not a term people are liking too much). Funny...it reminds me of gum everytime I say it : )

I've been gearing up for presentations for this summer. I'll be going to Region XI and Region III; doing some school district workshops; and have had the honor to be asked to present to the School Library Administrator's Association. That'll be really nice! Can't wait to see some familiar faces there. Now...to buy that Flip video camera I've been hearing about on the listservs and start taping away. Those things look COOL!!!

Okay. That's about it. How does one end a blog? Who am I really writing to? Myself or people out there? If it's to myself, then I'm getting a little paranoid. We've all heard the story of the crazy person who has lots of friends....online....jeesh! And if anyone out there reads this, I'll send them a galley - promise! Well, at least three people.

CAN"T WAIT FOR TLA!!!!!!!! Gail Giles is gonna be there - whoop!
